Urban outdoors - resilient cities, resilient youth
Volterra, Italy, 28th of May - 1st of June 2014

By 2030 60% of the world’s population or 4.9 billion people are expected to live in urban areas. It is argued that urbanism is fundamentally changing the condition of humanity and our relationship to the earth. The environmental impact of urban areas is putting a huge strain on our Earth’s resources and creating additional issues for the inhabitants of these areas such as loss of biodiversity and urban heat island effect. At this time young people across the globe are creating urban spaces where creativity, environmental and social action join together, inspiring local inhabitants, encouraging municipalities and empowering businesses to adapt greener practices.

Sustainable Youth Work Meeting (IYNF Networking Conference 2012)
15/5 - 20/5/2012, Máriahalom, Hungary
The Sustainable Youth Work Meeting is jointly organized by International Young Naturefriends (IYNF). The meeting serves as a continuation of series of networking meetings organized by IYNF in previous years. Sustainability is one of the 5 values of IYNF. Yet it is sometimes hard to explain what we really mean with this and especially how we implement and live it. By organising this meeting we would like to get more clarity on this field for all involved stakeholders. We want to provide a space to discuss and discover the topic of sustainability, which is an up-to-date topic in general and especially in Naturefriends organisations.
