What could be seen as the main goal of activism? A change? And how many people we need for that? We would say, “the more the merrier”! :). Getting the attention of the public is extremely important in this case. This is what we will be aiming for at the last event of The Flow of Activism program. The Fruits of Activism will be welcoming both sides.

The participants with their projects and the public. Because what is the project without others willing to offer a helping hand? That’s why our participants will get a chance to talk to people. We believe that through this experience and also reactions of others, including guest mentors, organizations and everyone involved, we can move forward.

Practical Info

What?

The Fruits of Activism will focus on utilizing the lessons and achievements of the previous activities in the cycle for the sake of public recognition of the importance of voluntary engagement of young people in active citizenship and for further publicity of the projects developed by the participants, contributing towards the sustainability of their work also after the end of the program lifespan.

Who?

Participants who went through the second training course (The Structures of Activism) will have a chance to present their projects. A publicly open conference will take place during this activity and it will be open for representatives of IYNF Member and Partner organizations, volunteers and e-volunteers. IYNF also welcomes representatives of other youth organizations that share the values of IYNF and are willing to learn and replicate the knowledge of the activity among their peers.

How?

The participants will present their projects in the form of workshops and lectures facilitated by the trainers of IYNF. The conference will be open to the public and the participants will be able to share and discuss their projects with the guests consisting of European youth organizations representatives, European Youth Forum representatives, political actors and also private sector representatives. The conference will also give an opportunity to network with Brussels based NGOs.

Where and When?

The activity dates are between November 12-17 at Destelheide center, south of the centre of Brussels. The conference will take place on the 14-15th of November. The place of the event can’t be more symbolic. Where else to discuss topics like active citizenship if not in the heart of United Europe.

About the venue: Destelheide is a modern, daring and cozy complex of buildings made of glass, concrete and timber on a vast domain surrounded by nature within the green belt of Brussels. The centre was built between 1964 and 1971 by architect Paul Felix, who designed a series of very functional buildings. Now, more than 40 busy years later, Destelheide still vouches for an inspiring and stimulating environment that boosts creativity.

The program of the Conference and public call will be announced on the 11th of October.
