International Youth Congress (IYCO) meets every two years. It consists of representatives of member and partner organisations, representatives of NFI and Presidium members.
The Congress decides on a 2 years strategy for IYNF work, on political and practical issues connected with this work, and on future activities and involvement of IYNF in various issues. The Congress takes decisions on reports, closing of accounts, alterations to the Statutes, applications for membership, motions and resolutions and other issues. The Congress gives guidelines for the work of the Presidium and staff and last but not least elects IYNF Presidium for the next Congress period.

International Youth Committee (IYCE) meets usually twice, but at least once a year. It decides on short-term technical and practical issues, gives short-term directions to the Presidium and staff and examines the work of the Presidium. IYCE passes decisions on the budget and among other things also ratifies the appointment of the Secretary General.

Presidium
IYNF is run by a Presidium elected for two years, composed of volunteers representing member organisations.
The Presidium as an leadership of the organisation implements IYNF strategies into life. Presidium convenes IYNF meetings, carries out the decisions of the IYCO and the IYCE, prepares of reports and minutes, controls and implements financial decisions and budget, and selects and employs staff members.

The International Youth Secretariat
IYNF employs a Secretary General (International Youth Secretary), who is selected, appointed and dismissed by the Presidium and whose task is to manage the secretariat according to the job description and tasks outlined by the Presidium.
Possible further employees such as Project Officer can also be contracted on the basis of a need and a decision of the Presidium. Currently the international office of IYNF employs 7 regular staff members, equivalent of 4 full-timers. See current staff in Contact us.

The Audit
The Audit of NFI is simultaneously the Audit of IYNF. The Audit consists of four auditors elected by the Congress of the NFI. The Congress of IYNF proposes one of the four auditors to the NFI Congress for election. The Audit examines all the accounting and reports back to the statutory bodies of NFI and IYNF. Working Groups
By decision of 55th IYCE in Oostduinkerke IYNF established two Working Groups - Outdoor and Environment and elected their members. The task of the Working Groups is to develop their working fields and prepare IYNF programme within the field. See WG members in Contact us.
