Call for articles Tube 9
Since we are hard-working bees, even though we have finished working on Tube 8 just one month ago, we have already started preparing for the new issue, which is planned to appear at the beginning of April.
We have decided that starting this issue we would like to have a main theme for every issue, for this one it would be “Sustainable travelling”. We are sending a call to all our member organizations and to their members to send us any type of article that you consider fitting the above-mentioned topic. The articles should be around 400-500 words. When sending us the pictures that go with the article, please don’t forget to send us the photo credits as well.
And since Tube is a magazine created specially for our volunteers’ needs, in case you would have a suggestion for an article, but you don’t think it’s for this topic, just send an e-mail to Adela or Asia at adela@iynf.org or Joanna@iynf.org. We are more than happy to receive your input!

NFI Secretaries’ Meeting
Last week, Ilze was participating in the NFI secretaries’ meeting, where issues like campaigning against nuclear power and Eurotam were discussed. IYNF is happy to join and support many activities of the member and partner organizations, inviting NFI MOs to take active part in the upcoming activities of IYNF. All secretaries agreed in working together, exchanging good practices on membership management and activity implementation.
Visibility project
January was the kick-off month for a new IYNF project. Visibility – make the invisible visible! is a follow up project of the European Year of Volunteering, through it IYNF is trying to give visibility to volunteering in general, and to volunteering within IYNF in particular. The project is divided into three parts: study visits to environmental NGOs, with the goal of extending the IYNF network and collecting best practice examples; preparing a travelling photo and short movie exhibition on the topic of volunteering and producing at the end a leaflet with the results of the study visits, as well as with the best practice examples collected.
We would like to use this project as an opportunity to strengthen our links with our MOs as well as for collecting best practice examples when it comes to volunteering and volunteers’ management. More details to follow.
Grant news
It’s the 2nd day of February and we can say that we have successfully crossed the 1st of February finish line! Still alive and breathing after an intense month, the IYNF office has submitted to the EACEA (The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) several project proposals for which we hope to receive financial support. We will not find out the results until a few months from now, but we’re keeping our fingers (and toes – just in case) crossed so that we can organise some great activities for you this year.
