Our demands

We as IYNF, demand from the EU to stop all subsidies for nuclear power and fossil fuels and to implement a meaningful carbon trading scheme. We would like to invite our MOs to implement activities on that topic, broaden public knowledge and address their regional and national governments on these issues. We want to explore the possibilities to launch a social media campaigns together with our MOs and POs. The volunteers responsible for the campaign will provide materials and structure for the network. We welcome the inclusion of other social relevant actors like unions and social movements in this campaign.

Background

Our participation in the COP 23 was set around a campaign to renew the energy sector for economic growth and social just and ecological Transformation. Also we are organizing a workshop on climate change in the YFJ and we are having a session on this topic together with unionists at the EYE 2018. Our delegation for the COP 24 would be greatly supported by such and campaign. Since Poland still relies to 80% on coal we think that this would be especially helpful for the activists there.
