Our demands

The Young Naturefriends are part of an internationalist and anti-militaristic movement. Young Naturefriends stand with the values of peace, democracy and solidarity among people and nations. The war in Syria, which has started with protests against the dictatorship of the Assad-Family in 2012 has become one of the most tragic and horrible military conflicts in the world. Hundreds of thousands have been killed, millions of refugees are seeking a safe place within or outside of Syria.

The only region which has so far been stable and secure for all people, ethnics and religions was North-Syria. The region – named as Democratic Federation of Northern Syria (Rojava) - has taken a strong course towards the values of radical democracy, feminism as well as social and ecological values. Due to the current attack of the Turkish army and Islamic-fundamentalist militias, it is heavily threatened.

We therefore demand,

• that the Turkish army, violating international law, draws back from Syria immediately
• that NATO-countries do not support the invasion of Turkey any longer
• that imperialist powers, making people suffer in Syria and beyond, have to stop using the war for their own interests
• that the North-Syrian democracy is recognized as a strong actor towards peace and human values, and is therefore supported by        democratic nations and movements

As young Naturefrieds we stand with all people in the middle-east who believe in democracy, solidarity and peace. We fear for all women, children and men who live unsafe and threatened. We strongly hope, that peace will come back soon and life can be rebuild better and happier than before.
