Youth Leader Qualification Manual
The Youth Leader Qualification Manual is a comprehensive educational resource developed by International Young Naturefriends to support young people in preparing for and reflecting on leadership roles within youth work. It builds on the experience and learning outcomes of an intensive online Youth Leader Qualification training course, designed to strengthen the skills, confidence and responsibility of emerging youth leaders in a wide range of contexts. The manual brings together theoretical foundations and practical tools on topics such as youth work, group processes, leadership styles, communication, conflict resolution, diversity, youth participation, non-formal education, and nature-based learning. Through clear explanations, concrete examples and adaptable methods, it offers guidance for accompanying groups, understanding group dynamics, and creating inclusive, participatory and value-based learning environments. Intended as both a learning pathway and a long-term reference, the manual supports youth leaders in translating shared values into everyday practice and contributes to the development of reflective, responsible and empowered leadership within the Naturefriends movement and beyond.
