Cards for Humanity

Get to know each other, share different perspectives and start conversations that matter!

Cards for Humanity is a conversation game designed to bring people together and help them connect, whether they're meeting for the first time or have known each other for years.

The game was developed by young people during the Democracy XP: Rule the Game, Not the People the final activity of IYNF's  2026 Democracy Re:Boot – Engage, Defend, Innovate! project cycle.

Cards for Humanity includes four types of cards: Scenarios, Personal Questions, Hot Topics and Wild Cards. Some invite players to share their experiences and opinions, while others encourage them to think creatively, discuss different perspectives or complete tasks together.

There are no fixed rules for how the conversations should happen. Instead, players agree on them as a group, putting democratic decision-making into practice and creating a space where everyone has a say.

The game can be used as an icebreaker, a team-building activity or a way to explore topics that might not come up in everyday conversations. It's particularly useful in youth exchanges, training courses and group activities, and works well alongside methods like speed dating or sharing random facts.

All you need is a group of people willing to talk, listen and get to know each other a little better!

You can either choose to download the game here on the website or to contact us at iynf@iynf.org to get a printed copy sent to you. We send the game for free; you just have to cover the shipping costs.

The educational activity and the production of the outcome were kindly funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
