It’s been two wonderful and very Zen weeks in the Ashram yoga center in Ždarec u Skutče, at the heart of Czech Republic. From the early morning sun salutations to the afternoon tea table lunch breaks and the evening storytelling and aroma therapy and massage sessions, it’s been an amazing experience.

This work camp was organized by our member organization Duha, Czech Republic, a civic association putting together recreatio11692566_10200697551277011_908364580198979101_nnal activities for children and youth and it took place between the 21 June to 3 July.

The yoga center itself has been built in 1980 as a place to hold seminars and support different alternative movements. This includes yoga, Zen Buddhism, reiki, shiatsu, macrobiotic approaches and others. Since then, around 4,000 travelers have passed through.

This work camp included participants from Finland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Belgium and Serbia, who got together to learn from one anot  her, to share experiences and taste wonderful international meals, all while helping the building and maintenance of the Yoga Center.

Among the activities were building a dark therapy room, cutting the grass11040509_958498170880483_847472957083277705_n around the area, forming the shape of the stairs inside one of the buildings and my personal favorite, slapping mud and hay on a wall.
