Austria’s Young Nature Friends offer an internship for young people between 18 and 30 years old. The internship will take place during one of the Environmental Work Camps.

Since 2006 internships for Public Relations (PR) during the course of the Environmental Work Camps are offered for young adults between 18 and 30 years. P.U.L.S. is an internship of Austria’s Young Nature Friends in cooperation with the FORUM Umweltbildung and the Alpenvereinsjugend Österreich.

The internship includes the following key aspects:

  • A starting workshop which includes the basics of project management, public relations and project documentation.
  • Conceptual design and preparation of press work and documentation for the duration of the Environmental Work Camp.
  • Active participation at the Environmental Work Camp and completion of the additional topics “Public Relation” and “Documentation”: investigating at the camp, generating press releases, selecting and using graphical material, contacting and assistance of journalists.
  • Documentation and reflection of the internship by writing a project diary and a press documentation
  • Participation at a closing event (half a day)

Advantages for the young adults
Teenagers who participate in P.U.L.S. and fulfil the requirements (participation at the starting workshop, internship, documentation, participation at the closing event) will be handed over a certificate by the minister of environment. This acknowledged certificate will contribute positively in future career progressions.

Advantages for the Young Nature Friends as offerer of  P.U.L.S.internships
Organisations and companies which offer P.U.L.S. internships are awarded with a certificate of the Ministry of Environment. They can use this award for their own public relations. In addition the P.U.L.S. organisations are pointed out at the homepage of the FORUM Umweltbildung.

Costs
The participants at the Environmental Work Camps are not paid and thus work voluntarily. They don’t have to come up for board and lodging, but have to pay travel costs. This is the same case for P.U.L.S. interns. All costs for materials, coaching and education are borne by the Nature Friends.
